Vic Property Jobs Improve

28 July, 2011

While the growth in demand for Victorian employment declined in the second quarter of 2011, property and real estate firms accelerated their hiring.

Speaking in Melbourne, Buckmaster Hawkey Director, Jeanette Hockney highlighted that while that the demand for Victorian labour registered a decline in the SEEK Job Ad Index -June 2011, the index for property sector jobs continued to improve. “Not only is real estate one of the most resilient sectors in the economy”, she told the audience at the Buckmaster Hawkey Property Industry Breakfast, “but the data we’re seeing confirms that firms are finding it increasingly difficult to hire qualified staff.”

“To ensure their firms are adequately resourced, real estate business leaders will need to consider innovative approaches to their management structures, and to their training and development programs.”
